Birka

Today Grandma (mimi), Noah, Theo and I took a daytrip out to Birka, a viking island outside of Stockholm.

We had a wonderful day, with a picnic lunch admist the roaming sheep.

We walked past fields of flowers to a cute church.

We also got to see a real live viking cemetary. The clumps of rocks you see are graves... viking graves.

On our way back to the boat, we stopped by a small viking 'area' (can't quite bring myself to call it a town, though that seems to be the ambition. Noah and Mimi explored the surroundings and Noah excitedly reported that he had seen an actual viking barbqueing. The viking was actually a black smith but hey coal is the common denominator.

Noah enjoyed himself thoroughly running around, chasing sheep, and climbing rocks.

On our way back tired from the days activities we saw the coolest water slide ever. Imagine plunging into the water from that thing!

Introduction

Feeling a bit limited by Flickr I am now going to give blogging a try. Don't expect too much. Some pictures and maybe a couple of videos featuring my two gorgeous boys Noah and Theo. Maybe I will comment a little, maybe not. But just to give my friends and family an idea on what is going on in our lives in our new home Massachusets. Oh and I have to give credit to where credit is due. Thank you Jeanine for your wonderful blog. As you can probably tell it has inspired and influenced me, in fact I am blatantly copying some of your ideas. Noah is our wonderful toddler. Three years old, he is full of adventure. This truly is the summer of bumps and scrapes. He seems to take it all in stride. Midsummer was a couple of weekends ago and in the span of 24 hours Noah got a bloody nose while dancing around the midsummer pole... bumped his head while playing in 'valpen', got a fat lip and two mosquito bites on his forehead. Nothing fazed him. Even when he toppled head first into a ditch, he just stood up and shook it off. In the evening he was sitting on a tricycle. Noah was screaming, staring at his hand. I ran over, sure he had been stung by a bee. He sat there with his hand straight in front of him and he looked up at me, all snotty with tears streaming down his face and whimpered "look". On his hand was... a fly. Theo is our beautiful baby boy. He is just two months and a smiley little baby. Discovering his hands and feet he is active and curious about his world around him. His baby bjorn baby sitter is a life saver around here as he seems most content laying in it and being bounced. He is thoroughly entertained by his music mobile and when mommy or daddy make faces at him.
